Can non-members join for weekly swims?

Non-members can join for one guest swim during the regular polar bear season as a guest of a member. You will need to sign a digital waiver before the swim.

How can I become a member?

New membership is currently closed for the Coney Island Polar Bear Club.

How can I swim with the polar bears?

While we are not accepting new Coney Island Polar Bear Club members this season, the general public is welcome to register and join us on our annual New Year’s Day Plunge, the largest off-season event at Coney Island and a tradition since 1903 that raises money for the local community.
