The New Year’s Day Plunge is Open to the Public

The Coney Island Polar Bear Club is always excited to offer New Yorkers the opportunity to swim in the Atlantic Ocean at its annual New Year’s Day Plunge is the largest off-season event at Coney Island and a tradition since 1903.

While our weekly swims during the winter season are for club members only, the New Year’s Day Plunge is open to the public through registration.

Through the generosity of our attendees, this event raises funds to support non-profit organizations in the Coney Island Community.
